Policies

We are currently meeting virtually for sessions through telehealth for clients based in New York and Florida. Clients will be required to provide their own art materials if engaging in art therapy sessions. Because of this factor, art therapy directives will be flexible and creative based on what the client has available. The client is also able to engage in digital art-making in session. All forms of communication and telehealth services are HIPAA compliant.

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes each.

Family art therapy sessions can range from 50-90 minutes each.

The frequency of sessions is determined with the client based on needs and flexibility.

Short-term treatment is generally kept between 10-25 sessions, while long-term treatment can be more than 25 sessions. The overall duration of treatment is also determined by the client's needs. The process of determining the duration can be flexible.

Cancellation of a session must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the cancellation fee ($75).

Out-of-Network Reimbursement

If you are not currently covered by one of our accepted insurance plans, we offer paperwork to apply towards out-of-network benefits which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We also work with Mentayaa service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits and helps clients often get a percentage back of their session fee. We have seen clients be reimbursed on average 25-95% of the session fee. When outreaching to our practice, there will be space to include your insurance information so that our team can see what your out-of-network benefits would look like!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, navigating denials, and calling insurance companies. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.
