Policies

Due to the pandemic circumstances, I am currently focusing on telehealth sessions for clients based in New York and Florida. Clients will be required to provide their own art materials. Because of this factor, art therapy directives will be flexible and creative based on what the client has available. The client is also able to engage in digital art-making in session. All forms of communication and telehealth services are HIPAA compliant.

Individual art therapy sessions are 50 minutes each.

Family art therapy sessions can range from 60-90 minutes each.

The frequency of sessions is determined with the client based on needs and flexibility.

Short-term treatment is generally kept between 10-25 sessions, while long-term treatment can be more than 25 sessions. The overall duration of treatment is also determined by the client's needs. The process of determining the duration can be flexible.

Cancellation of a session must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid the cancellation fee (standard session fee).

Insurance & Out-of-Network

For New York clients:

I am currently accepting Cigna insurance through Alma, an easy platform that takes away the complications of dealing with copayment billing papers, scheduling, etc.

For other insurance policies, I am happy to provide the appropriate and needed information for clients to file a claim for out-of-network reimbursement. Many insurances will reimburse for creative arts therapy with a licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT).

For Florida clients:

I am currently accepting Cigna, Aetna, and Optum insurances through Alma.

For other insurance policies, I am happy to provide the appropriate and needed information for clients to file a claim for out-of-network reimbursement. Please see below for specific plans that are covered under Aetna and Optum:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits with my plan?

  • Do I have an out-of-network deductible and have I met any percentage of this out-of-network deductible thus far?

  • What percentage of art therapy session fee with a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (for New York clients) or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (for Florida clients) is covered?

  • For out-of-network: What percentage of the therapy session fee with a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (for New York clients) or a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (for Florida clients) will be reimbursed and if there is a maximum percentage?

Pricing

I offer free 15 minute consultations via video or phone.

Pricing of sessions will always be discussed before treatment begins.

Individual telehealth art therapy sessions are $160 for 50 minutes.

Family or couples telehealth art therapy sessions range from $200-$250 depending on the length of the session and the number of family members in treatment and session.

Sliding Scale

I understand that access to affordable mental health care and therapies can be expensive. Based on income level and other financial obligations, I also offer the option of a sliding scale fee per session for both individual and family art therapy sessions.

The option of a sliding scale can always be discussed before beginning treatment. Depending on schedule and availability, I also offer limited spaces for "Pay What You Can".
