Therapy for Teens

At our practice, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where teenagers can explore and express their feelings. We understand that the teenage years are a time of significant change and development, and we are here to help teens navigate these challenges. We offer both art therapy and talk therapy, designed specifically to meet the diverse needs of teenagers.

If your teen has expressed symptoms of anxiety or depression, art therapy can be a great space for them to express how they are feeling. Teenagers often gravitate towards expressing themselves through outlets that involve fewer words and more self-exploration. We are happy to provide a safe space for your teen to creatively engage and learn how to cope with their emotions and challenges. Our approach is centered on meeting each teen where they are emotionally and supporting them in developing the skills they need to thrive.

Teenagers are often working through their growing sense of independence, and we always focus on providing autonomy and validation during sessions. In our art therapy sessions, teenagers have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through various mediums. This process can be incredibly powerful in helping them articulate feelings and experiences that might be difficult to express verbally. By engaging in art, teens can develop greater self-awareness and emotional resilience. Art therapy provides a non-verbal outlet for self-expression, allowing teens to explore and process complex emotions in a safe and supportive environment.

In talk therapy, we create an open and supportive dialogue where teenagers can explore their thoughts and feelings. We use evidence-based techniques to help them develop effective coping strategies, improve communication skills, and build self-esteem. Our goal is to empower teens with the tools they need to navigate their world confidently and healthily. Talk therapy provides a space for teens to discuss their concerns, explore their identity, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

We believe in a collaborative approach, working closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that the therapeutic process is holistic and supportive. We understand that the support of family and caregivers is crucial in the therapeutic journey, and we strive to involve them in a way that benefits the teen. Together, we can create a path towards healing and growth, fostering an environment where teens feel understood, valued, and capable.
